Or do you try and be civil!? I'm a star trek fan (NERD! who shouted that!?) So my ring tone is the theme from the Next Generation!. A workmate i cannot stand came over when he heard it and thought we could share a common bond and maybe i wouldn't detest the little rat so much!. He tried to talk to me about his favorite star trek episodes, i just blanked him and shrugged my shoulders "I dunno" was all i replied!. So do you blank or at least try and be civil!? If so please explain how you go about either being civil or letting them know you cannot stand them!. Thank you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It depends on why you can’t stand them!. If it’s something the person did, then you should not trust that person and give them the silent treatment!. But, if you can’t stand the person just because of your judgment then that is unfair to that person!. Face it… we all had our moments in life when we were going through a rough time and we needed a friend!. It sounds like this person is reaching-out to you and trying to be civil—so as a man the mature thing to do is handle it with your heart and not your weak judgment!. You don’t have to be “friends,” with this person, but if he has not done anything to hurt you; it would be nice to recognize his existence!.

That depends on what he has done to you to make you hate him!. If he doesn't realize he has upset you you're being nasty by blanking him!. You should be civil unless he has done something bad to you, in which case just ask him not to bother speaking to you and explain your reasonsWww@Enter-QA@Com
I try to be civil with everybody, but if I can't stand them I tend to make excusses that I have something else to do!

If it's someone like this who you have a very legitimate reason for disliking, and he must know by now why no-one likes him, then I would just be civil but honest, if this guy is upset that people are blanking him then he should move on, and change his ways in the next place he works!.

You are entitled to hate some people for no reason other than you do, but still I think that sounded just cold!. I hate some people with a passion but out of politness more than anything I guess I try to be civil!. This guy made an effort to chat to you so your hatred for him obviously isnt reciprocated!. Maybe you should have given him a second chance or thought about why you hate him in the first place!? I would have made small talk, keeping my answers short and conceise and not engaged in the normal rules of conversation, eg asking the same question back, using negative body language etc!. That way when he is telling his mates what a dick you are later he cant slag you off becuase you were polite and said everything you needed to!. But he would have got the message if you do it right that your not interested in him or his stupid conversations!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I wear my heart on my sleeve!. I won't be fake nice to someone I have no time for!. Although I respect everyone, I would ask myself why do I dislike this person, and if I have a legitimate reason (s/he lied to me, stole from me, they do drugs!.!.!.) then I will make it perfectly clear to them that I do not have time for them!. Not by blanking them out or avoiding them for a while, but by telling them straight out!.
