I agree, it looks ridiculous!. I laugh every time I see a guy walking while wearing his pants this way!. Their legs are always spread apart really far and they have to walk like they're on skis or something so they don't fall over!.

I have to believe that somewhere at some time long ago, some dude got caught with his pants halfway down like that and tried to just act casual and play it off like it was the new style (maybe he was drunk or on drugs or something!?) and for some inexplicable quirk of fate!.!.!. it caught on!.
