Question: Ok! how come my friend's mom has never heard a your mama joke!? And what should I do to apologize!?
Ok! 19 year old guy here and I was over my friend, Cara's, house!. We were in her room listening to music and trading stupid insults!. Anyway I am in the middle of making an insult, something like "Your mom is so ugly and fat she!.!.!." something!. The thing is that I had never seen her mom before and she's enormous!. She was actually walking in with brownies for us and then told me to get out of her house!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would honestly not go over there nor call her!. I would get a rather nice "I'm sorry" card and simply say on it that you had never seen her and the joke was not directed at her personally, but it's simply a generic insult meant in fun and not personally at the person's mother!.
Explain that you would NEVER verbally attack someone's mother nor verbally belittle someone over their weight!.
Explain to her in the card that you are extremely sorry and ask for their forgiveness!.
also put in there that you completely understand if she never wants to see your face in her house again!.
Just leave it at that and make sure you put plently of appologies in the card, but don't over do it!.
You may even send some flowers to her!.

If you tell her mom it was just a joke, she might not understand and think you were being an insensitive jerk, so just go to your friend's house and apologize to her mom saying that it was insensitive of you (even though you had never met her before that and were just making a pointless joke)!.
