maybe earlier, they only provided petrol but when diesel came into the place, people still used the same name and so it's called petrol pump!.

We call them 'fuel pumps'!. After all, they pump fuel!. Here, we do not get hung up on what you call the fuel!. I can see where that could be a problem for you!.
We also have water pumps, which pump water!. You probably call them something else, which could be an issue too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
