Things have changed drastically in the past 20 years (even though most people wont admit it 'here' because there are a lot of teens on Y!A)!. That's all you see on the news now: teens bringing guns/knives to school, getting pregnant, school shootings!. You didn't see that 20 years ago!. It's pretty scary!. I'd say there isn't enough discipline!. You can't even look at a child the wrong way now a days without someone yelling child abuse!.

1) parents arent being parents anymore!.!. they are too worried about trying to be the kids friend in stead of the parent
2) the tv!. shows like "the real world" where everyone is sleeping with each other and celebrities are a big influence now'a days

its not all of them, don't go sterotyping every single teenager just because most of them are doing those things!.
i'm a teenager, i have had a boyfriend for about 2 years and we havent had sex because we're saving it for marriage
i don't drink; only on occasion during family parties so i'm not getting wasted with friends screwing other guys in the process
i don't smoke because that's disgusting, i don't take drugs coz i like my life, i dont do the whole knife/gun thing because violence isnt a solution to anything
my first boyfriend was at 17, not at 10!.
i kiss my boyfriend, but we dont go extreme, but what's the big deal with kissing!?
and my grades are dandy

the teenagers that are all running a muck probably have had a bad influence from their parents or older "role models"
so if anything, blame the adults who are influencing the actions on their children, because most of the time, it's the parents that the kids turn into!.
they've seem to given up on their responsibilities to morally cultivate their children!.
they busy themselves with their daily jobs, not giving their kids the proper attention they need!.
they spoil their kids for control
and fail to consistently discipline them!.

Except for the guns part I was involved in everything else you have stated and I have turned out okay!.!.!. I'm 36!. It's mostly kids being kids and there are people in every older generation who feel the way you do!. Live your life and don't worry so much about stereotyping kids!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't even want to know!. I am barely 24, and I remember 10 years ago what MY peers were doing!.!.!. frankly all that scared the CRAP out of me but they were doing it back then too!. I just think we are becoming more aware of what's going on!. As technology progresses there are more traces of what the youth are doing, there isn't exactly such a thing as "behind closed doors" anymore!.
