Do you agree with this poem about joy and sorrow?!

Question: Do you agree with this poem about joy and sorrow!?
On Joy and Sorrow
Kahlil Gibran

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked!.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears!.
And how else can it be!?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain!.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven!?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives!?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy!.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight!.

Some of you say, "Joy is greater thar sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater!."
But I say unto you, they are inseparable!.
Together they come, and when one sits, alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed!.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy!.
Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced!.
When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

" they are inseparable"
That sums it up!. I believe that nature requires a balance in all things!. So I do agree with Gibran!. And how very appropriate for how I feel, for my scale is rocking back and forth at a furious pace!.!. So much so I am getting very dizzy now that I think about it!.!.
Sheesh!.

Did this come from his work called "The Prophet"!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

yeh!.!. that is so trueWww@Enter-QA@Com

Awww, yes, haden't read that in a long time!.!.!.!.!.love it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes, I do agree with that thinking!. I still have the original gold gilded book of" The Prophet" that my mentor and former teacher gave to me when I graduated from High School!. Inside she wrote" Pat, always hold on to your great love of life"!. She was my special friend who always believed in me and we shared the deep and important things of life!. She is still alive and in a nursing home!. Her body is weak, her mind and heart are strong!. How ironic that when I called her last month we discussed those sentiments from the Prophet!. She too has had much joy and sorrow!.

This is another that I like" I walked a mile with pleasure, she chatted all the way, it left me none the wiser, for all she had to say!.!.!. I walked a mile with sorrow, and she never said a word, but oh, the things I learned from her, when sorrow walked with me"!. author unknownWww@Enter-QA@Com
