My own!. It is part of my own rules that I make an honest effort to be honest, compassionate, courageous, honorable, and so on!. But they are MY rules!. It is prudent to obey the law of the land to the extent possible, but where ones own values conflict, the choice is made on ones own rules!.
Even someone who lives by an externally-applied set of rules does so by their own choice!.
