we all do but it varies to the degree!.
I miss my mother but if my wife had died!? I would find that I miss her to the point of pain as well as emotional upset!.
it also lessens with time!. The initial effect of loss being the worst!.
Often folk will talk to a person not 'here' anymore as if they were!. it also depends on other factors like strength of character,how close you were to them, did you share lot of time an activities with them even down to did you love them or just like them!.

Yes my beloved dad I miss him terrible he died 15yrs ago this month and I'm still missing him!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
