Question: Should a monk feel love!?

I am monastic also, and I think it is perfectly fine to be in love, as long as you remain true to your beliefs!. I believe the Lord wants me to be celibate, and so I am!. That doesn't stop me from loving, or even desiring people!. It does stop me from having a relationship with them that would violate the vows that I took!. We are instructed by our Lord to be loving in our attitudes and actions!. I think also that the heart is made to love, and that we couldn't stop it even if we wanted to!. The question is where does your fidelity lie!? Is it with the Lord, or with your loved one!? I think that's a choice that we make before we even begin on the path that we are on!.
I'm sure it is something that we all question from time to time, but for me the answer is always the same!.!.!. I desire to honor God above all other things!. Does that make the temptation go away!? No!. But it does make the burden bearable, knowing that I am blessed because of my fidelity, and the blessing is a very real and dynamic one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
