Eternal flame means spirit to me!. It relates to the fact that we as people are spiritual beings and we are eternal!.
also it reminds me of my favorite scripture!. A bruised reed HE will not break, a smoldering wick HE will not put out!. I love this because it relates to when we are at our weakest like a bruised reed He is with us!.
He will not break us!.
Asmoldering wick He will not put out!. When we are so close to giving up, like a smoldering candle that can be put out with just two fingers against the wick!.
When we are smoldering and about to give up, when our fire is about to go out, He ignites us, all we need to do is ask!.
