This is going to sound really hokey, but I go to my kids and get a big squeeze, their love makes everything better no matter what!.

The "item" or "object" I seek is in my key chain!. Is two tiny sterling silver charms with a birthstone in their center!. Each represents one of my sons, so I hold them in my hands!.
When am lost in an unfamiliar road far from home and I'm scared I play a CD (object/item) my son made, he's a musician!. Hearing his voice comforts me!.

When I'm nervous or scared I don't really seek out an item of mine!.!.!. but I do cherish my Puffalump Doll xD I got her when I was a year old from my Mommy and Daddy ^_^ lol
