I've seen it in other categories; I don't think it is necessary!. If someone doesn't like the q why bother to answer!!?!

When you answer a question, you should always think about how you would feel if someone posted the type of remark to you, that you planned to post to someone else!.
In other maybe simpler words, don't give out what you are not prepared to take back in return

If the remark answers the question asked, then the fact that it's 'snide' or flippant is irrelevant
