Should tax payer $ be spent to bail out delinquent mortgages?!

Question: Should tax payer $ be spent to bail out delinquent mortgages!?
Personal opinion: NO! If I were to make a mistake by biting off more than I can chew, I should be responsible for it!.

If I knew the government was going to "bail me out", I'd have bought a mansion a long time ago!.!.!.

Thanks for your answers/opinions!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Absolutely NOT!. That means I, with TWO mortgages, (and I'm paying them BOTH faithfully, thank you very much) would be paying through MY taxes for someone elses house! I don't THINK so! It's bad enough I have to feed criminals, but some people who are in foreclosure just plain don't care and don't pay!. Some are on drugs and pay for that instead of their house!. Or gambling or something!. I'm NOT paying for that!. They can just get responsible and pay their own way or they can rent a house from me!. $$$ Foreclosure is one the very WORST things that can go on your credit and there are ways to avoid that from happening, if you catch it before it goes through it's course!.!.!.!. Problem is that many people wait for the last second to seek help and it's too late!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Pete, under any other circumstances, I would say no!.
I myself was the victim of Predatory lending, and our mortgage broker fed us nothing but lies, we went over our contracts with fine tooth combs and so did our Attorney, they assured us that we could refinance after 2 years, but now that we are trying to refinance, our Mortgage Co!. has gone bankrupt!. We didn't bite off more than we could chew, but we bought exactly 1 MONTH before Hurricane Katrina and then lost everything but the brick structure, we are back in the house now, but still stuck w/ mortgage crap!. I DON'T want the government to bail me out, because I can take care of my own finances, BUT I want them to crack down on predatory lending! And make these @ss clown mortgage company's accountable for their petty sliminess!Www@Enter-QA@Com

i agree completely, i bought a house that i could afford, even though the mortgage company was trying to get me to finance twice what i could realistically afford!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Heck no! Thats like, having $243 worth of groceries, and only having $32 in your pocket, and expecting the person behind you in line to pay the rest!. NOT RIGHT!!
