There's a few reasons!.
First off, most guys aren't that great at carrying a decent conversation, unless it's something they are really into!.
Second, they are probably trying to ask you to do something with them, and chicken out!.
Third, they are just trying to make you think about them, by just randomly sending text!.

i would think its to put them, in your head!.!.!. Girls do it too, when i was dating, girls would text with the ever ambiguous "Hey hot girl" and i would text back, "Hey sweetness" and then they wouldnt respond!. I think they do it simply so youre thinking about them!.!.!. dumb and Immature, but what can ya do!.
