Why do we wait until the funeral to make a big fuss about people and their lives!

Question: Why do we wait until the funeral to make a big fuss about people and their lives and how loved they are!?
If life made any sense, we'd have that big formal wingding in their honor while they were alive, let them hear the nice things, get schnockered at their own wake, etc!.

Then at funeral time, just plant 'em and think about what a great deathday party they had!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

All the Lifetime Achievement Award winners get that!.!.!.why shouldn't we!?

By the way, have I told you lately what an awesome person you are and how much I enjoy reading your questions everyday or how thankful I am for all the times you make me laugh and put a smile on my face!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

People are social after the fact!. We wait because we take it for granted that they are always going to be here!. We don't want to think about that final walk to the end of the line!. I agree!. We should treat each day as if it's the last day and have all the fun and games and brouhaha that is possible cause that final knock from the reaper is just around the corner and will sneak up on you without so much as a howdy do! I speak to my family like theres no tommorow and want them to know I will always love and remember them and I hope they remember me the same!. At funerals for all of my relatives we grieve but we throw a celebration to let us know it is alright and we will all be fine as life does go on!. Theres so much food and music and tons of pictures and videos to share!. It's like a giant family reunion instead of a funeral!. Now if we could only get them all to attend the actual family reunions!. (smiling)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Myself I try to let those who matter to me know at least once a week if not daily that they are appreciated for what they bring into my life!. In fact we've been known to have our own schnockering party and say funny and nice things to each other!. No one should wait to tell those they love how much they matter!. So do it today, give a hug if you can't do that then send an ecard!.

As for me I want no wake, just pop me in that big toaster oven and sprinkle my ashes over the tomato patch!. Hopefully the tomatoes will survive and weeds won't and everyone can have a BLT on me!

The big fuss of the typical funeral that is popular in
modern day America is, however, a very recent happening!.
In the past, funerals tended to be very plain, a pine box, family and friends caring for the body, and simple burial!. Morbid though it may be the following link details funeral customs through the ages and with various cultures and how and why they came to be: http://www!.thefuneraldirectory!.com/ancie!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

This has always bothered me!. I have seen it happen too many times first hand!. This and also when the people who are still alive and are nicer to complete strangers than they are to the people they are the closest to!. Life is too short and that wingding will be here for everyone before you know it!. Everyone should live like they were dying!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Agreed!. I would like to have my funeral while I was still alive!. It would be special if I could give my own eulogy!. No one knows better than I what a sterling character I am!. Then I could get inebriated like everyone else during my wake!. Of course, I would be entitled for time off from work to attend a funeral!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My family likes to throw parties for old people to tell them how great they are!. We threw one for my Mom's 75th birthday just last year!. 7 years ago we threw my parents a big 50th wedding anniversary party!. We're already making plans for a big 80th birthday party for my Dad next year!. I don't know what's wrong with the rest of the world!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

During people's lifetimes we tend to take them for granted, especially if they aren't our parent, child or spouse!. When they have passed away (or sometimes when they get very sick) we tend to realize how much they really mean to us!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because you don't know what you got til it's gone!

My mother actually had 2 clauses in her funeral plans:

No one was allowed to wear black to her funeral!.
The first person that started crying and screaming and acting a fool, I was to get up and slap the hell out of them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That's why I'm always getting schnockered!. I'm so glad I have you in my life to give me a good excuse for all my drinking!. Now I will just tell people that I am celebrating their lives and the joy I feel for being able to be part of it all!.
Cheers!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because human- beings are very complicated and unfortunately we do not appreciate the things that we have until we have lost themWww@Enter-QA@Com

You must attend funerals and say a wholelot of nice things otherwise no-one will attend your cold meat party!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
