Car smart people out there, what could be wrong with my car...?!
Question: Car smart people out there, what could be wrong with my car!.!.!.!?
I hear a chirping sound coming from somewhere up front when I'm driving slowly (with windows down)!. I realize it could be one of several things, and I don't think it's brakes!. I'm not applying the brakes when I hear it!. It's not rhythmic!. It's kinda random!. Normally I'd ignore something like that, but I just bought this car used!. It seems to be in really good shape otherwise!.

It's hard to tell for certain that the belt isn't slipping!. What you can try is some belt lubricant, available at any auto supply store!.
also, check your belt for signs of wear- cracking, tearing, and just looking worn out are the major signs!.
The chirping would most definitely be the belts!. It is impossible to rule out belt slippage simply by eyeballing it!.
PS: if it were the rotors or any part of the braking system, the sound would either be made when applying the brakes (you said it wasn't) or you would have some shaking on your steering wheel!. Generally speaking, cracked or damaged rotors cause a shimmy, even if it's slight!. Ball bearings are not audible, much less able to make a chirping sound!. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to inspect your wheels for signs of heavy oil splatter, it's black and tarry, and would be in a star pattern on your hubcaps!. This is a sign of a busted/worn CV boot!. But I would say that 99!.9% isn't your problem at all!.
It's your belt!.
Oh and let me add one more thing- if it's more of a whining than a chirping, then indeed it might be the power steering pump!. But I still say it sounds like a simple belt problem!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

if its like a chirping sound it is most likely either you need new wheel barrings, or your rotors are bad!.!.!. both of these can make a noise simular to a chirp without u having to apply the brakesWww@Enter-QA@Com
