Interesting question!. Before, I always said I wished I could forget all the bad memories!. Now I can barely remember anything from my childhood--good or bad!. Ever seen someone with the beginnings of dementia or Alzheimer's!? Have you ever seen their frustration at knowing something's wrong and that they're losing their memory!? It's both heartbreaking and frustrating for loved ones!. However, the reason I don't think it's good to erase memories is because they're part of who we are and have contributed to shaping us!. If we lose those and go through life wondering who we are it's emotionally draining and hard to build a life!. Besides, those around us remember what we forget!. That's not always a good thing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I guess not, only because when I talk about my bad experiences, it helps others!. However, if I were just thinking about myself, then I think I would-- provided that my personality would still be the same!. But only if I could select the memories I wanted to erase! i!.e!. I'd love to forget about being bullied by girls as a kid!.!. I'm 20 and I still try to avoid those girls!. (They live in my area!.)
But I wouldn't want to forget losing a loved one, I don't think!. :S
Overall, I think bad memories make you more 'adult' and less carefree!. They make you realize that life is sometimes not great!. So, getting rid of them may make you happier!. (But I guess a woman's "worry hormones" play into that too)Www@Enter-QA@Com

No, **** happens, and with other bad memories one can console oneself with, "Well, it wasn't as bad as last time!." or, "It's never been as bad as this!." Erase past memories won't change the future except you'll have nothing to compare it with!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
