Lake Michigan is my favorite place to swim: uncontaminated, fresh (not saline) water, no beasties in the water, a clean, white sand bottom, and beaches formed of "singing sands" of finely ground up granite when the glaciers receded at the end of the most recent ice age!. They're called singing sands because they squeak when you drag your bare feet through them, unlike ocean beaches for example, which are composed of ground up sea shells of a much coarser consistency!.
I don't like the oceans because of sharks, portuguese men of war, and other beasts; I don't like rivers because of water moccasins and other snakes; I don't like most pools because of chlorine, urine, and crowds; and I don't like small lakes because of muddy bottoms, snakes, and sometimes other reptiles, occasionally very large ones that should be made into handbags, shoes, and belts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I prefer the pool over everything, but the lake is a close second!. Oceans are just too salty for me and rivers move too much!. Lakes are just so calm and serene, yet they can be mucky, so pools win out for their cleanliness!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
