Question: Are you afraid to offend people!?
Do you feel it is right that people need to watch what they speak when it comes to talking about Religion or Gays!? ( Not to say both together) I am choosing these as they appear to be the most common!.
Aka: Not being able to say your opinion about gay people good or bad
and not being allowed to say things in schools etc regarding religion!.

People never say what they think!.
This is okay with me to a degree!. For example one of my best friends is straight but her mom is a lesbian!. I'm REALLY careful what I say about gay stuff around her because I don't want to upset her feeling!. If I have an opinion that is relevant to whatever I'll still say it, I'm just careful how I say it
However, with people that are smarmy and think they can get away with it just because they aren't straight, get on my nerves and I am sometimes deliberately rude to them, not because I disagree with their choice of partners (which I do) but because I disagree with what they're doing!.
Cultural differences exist!. You don't have to agree with everyone's beliefs/lifestyles but you do have to get along with them!. It's better to get your ideas out there because that's just being honest but generally manners work better than pure, unrestrained bigotry!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think that as there is a law in our declaration of independence pertaining to the freedom of speech, we ought to have that right!. I think people should be allowed to openly speak out their opinions on a matter!. However, when you're speaking out, there is no need to become violent or hateful to the point where someone is either physically or emotionally harmed!.
In our schools, the teachers may openly discuss a "foreign" religion, and they may discuss the christian/jewish religion if a student first brings it up!. also, the question must be very specific and they are not allowed to say anything more on the subject than what they are asked!.

I see it to be an issue of manners which too many people don't seem to have anymore!. I really don't see why people feel the need to express their every thought about everything whether it hurts others or not!. Especially when it is hurtful to others!.

I think we are a bunch of touchy hypersensitive wimps who are afraid to have opinions that go against the flow!.
If someone thinks gays are bad, they are just as entitled to that feeling as anyone else is to any other!. But because it's politically "incorrect" to dislike gays (i'm using this as an example), those people are scolded and shunned!.
Any opinion is just as valid as any other!. It's an opinion!. Not everyone has to Like or Accept something just because everyone else does!.

I do watch what I say around others because I don't like to hurt anyones feelings!. I am not a big talker or thinker on religion because everyone has their own beliefs and gays, I know so many of them that it doesn't bother me!.

the country is getting a little too PC for my taste!. but at the same time, i think it's healthy that people are realizing it's hurtful when they are uninformed and run their mouths!. i think it's great that everyone has an opinion and they have a right to it!. however, i also think everyone should be open-minded enough to realize that people have different opinions and don't take it so personally if it doesn't match yours!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
