The guy who created Donkey Kong believed "donkey" meant "stupid" in English (he was Japanese) and he wanted to convey the meaning "stupid ape" in the name to an American audience!. He was laughed at, but the name stuck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
What I read was it was an error in translation!. That was pretty common with stuff coming from Japan with instructions translated into English!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
