Here's what you should do - listed in escalating order of urgency:

1) Ignore them until you feel that a Pearl Harbour-esk attack is imminent!.

This does take a somewhat emotionally-charged judgement call on your part but do your best to leave it *as late as possible* and for the most part they will not be bothered by you!. This takes some real mind power on your part but just use the Force!. They're alot like people - annoy them and they'll Kamakazi your hiney!. So stay calm but keep your eye on it!.

2) But after watching it's movements (fear can cloud ones judgement though so this takes practice - but hey I overcame it so it's doable) and you feel that a strike is imminent it's time to go Jackie Chan on it - trying to kill it!. If that fails!.!.!.

3) "Run screaming like a banshee from the area regardless of where you are or who around you thinks you're mad!."

The choice is between acute pain in public from a bee sting which will be followed by humiliation or just the humiliation by taking evasive action!.

But there is another alternative which will take care of the situation altogether:

As soon as the wasp first shows up on your radar have a preplanned exit strategy!. I don't believe in lying but say something like "I'll be back soon" and then leave calmly!. But it also helps to survey the area you're going to be spending time and deterimine where wasps are most likely to show up and steer clear away from that " sting zone"!.

Your so funny!. (But I can relate as I was stung 5 times as a 7 year old on a class camp - we all walked into a bees nest!. Very painful and emotional for us all!. So believe me I've had to face this fear from that background and have done it successfully)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
