Odd part of it is!.!.!.!.!.nobody gives that character any slack or any respect!.!.!.!.it's a running joke!. But!.!.!.!.back a year or so ago, when DC was doing their lead-offs into their _Infinite Crisis_ event, one of the things that came up, yes, even in the *comic book press*, was that the Aquaman character was actually *busy as hell* doing real superhero stuff, and a bit out of touch with everyone else!.!.!.!.
Apparently one of the bad guys had *sank San Diego into the ocean* and the writers were busting the character's tail making him *work* to keep the whole city from decaying into anarchy and death!. ^_^ Word has it it sold comic books too!.
But yeah!.!.!.!.it put the character out of touch with the League too, to the point that when some *game company* made a Justice League game, they ended up replacing Aquaman with Zatanna, which in turn prompted a parody from Wizard magazine!.!.!.!.just search the site below for the terms "Aquaman" and "answering machine", and if need be, "talks to fishnets":

It was some funny stuff!. ^_^ In my opinion, if the official Aquaman character had a bit more of *that* kind of attitude, maybe he wouldn't *be* a running joke, even if his powers are a little!.

What if!.!.!. in a few thousand years we're all living quite happily underwater in giant mermaid castles but suddenly a huge tsunami/hurricane/water tornado comes to destroy us all and the fish are the only ones who can move the castles out of harms way!.
