I do something similar to that, it could be that I don' t want anyone to get close enough to hurt me, so I move them away before they become too much of a part of me!.

omg yes!.!. and i end up missing a really great guy in the end!.!.!. i still feel bad for pushing him away but it wasn't because of him but because of my own insecurities!.!.!. sadly!.
