Well, there must be something wrong with this story.

If there wasn't anything to be rescued then you wouldn't be concerned with the people gathering to do just that.
Thus, the real question is do you want it to be rescued or just take the easy way out and let it die?
Nothing worth saving is easy but when others come to help count yourself lucky.
I don't know what I would do. No one has felt compelled to do an intervention on me. Thank goodness!

Sadly, there don't seem to be that many people interested in saving mine, so I guess that's not a problem for me. In fairness, I'd probably just raise the drawbridge if too many showed up anyway
I open up my soul and let it devour them for in the center of me is an appetite that feeds on the good intentions of others to the point that they no long seem to exist independent of who I am. They become part of me and in that sense my soul is fixed and it is they who have rescued me by sacrificing who they are to help me see better who I am.
