SERIOUSLY: why do women of certain religions (Holiness) wear their hair with a p!

Question: SERIOUSLY: why do women of certain religions (Holiness) wear their hair with a poof on top??
My hair is naturally curly and I had a Holiness believer tell me that I was a sinner because I did that to my hair to attract men.
I responded to her by telling her that my hair was naturally curly not a perm, so I cannot help how my hair looks. But I did notice that her hair was long straight and in a puff or poof on top--I noticed that those girls who were seized in Texas had similar hair styles. I know that there is modesty involved, so please tell me what is the reason for the poof? Does this signify that she is married, or menstruating?? I am serious, I am not poking fun of a religion, I am just trying my way to understand. Any help is appreciated--and please don't quote the Bible.

Wearing a poof on your head must be very uncomfortable.

(Where I come from, a poof is a gay man).

How in the world do you expect an answer to a religion based question without quoting The Bible? In the interest of attempting to answer your question, I shall ignore that restriction. Somewhere in The Bible , and I can't tell you exactly where, there is a reference to a woman's hair being her crowning glory. This is the basis for women of these sects not cutting their hair. As a result of not cutting their hair, it grows quite long and has to be put up into a bun on the top of their head. Why a bun? I don't know, but I suspect that it may be because when a woman's hair is worn down, it is considered a sensual thing that should be seen only be her husband. I don't fully understand but I make no judgement of what they do. If that brings them closer to God, who am I to tell them that they are wrong. On the other hand, it is not proper for them to condem you for how you choose to wear your hair since you are not part of their sect and are not under the same constraints which they choose to place upon themselves.

It came to them in a dream
