The ankle is a good place to show it off but keep it inconspicuous.

Yours sounds good if you have a meaning to it, like being a cancer survivor or knowing someone who is. Mind you the ankle will really hurt!!! Mine was very painful, but the lower back is renowned as being a sore spot.
I currently have two tattoos. A tribal cross on my upper right arm and my initials in oriental style lettering on my upper left arm.
My future plans are to get full arm sleeves on both arms of nothing but portraits of my closet family and friends just as a reminder and to say thanks to the great group of people that I surround myself with.
It's good that you know what you want. Tattoos shouldn't just be done to get one, they should mean something to you b/c it's something you're going to carry w/ you for the rest of your life. The breast cancer tattoo is a great choice and I do recommend you to show your support for the cause and get it. Pain is temporary, pride is forever!
I don't have one, and strongly suggest that you wear a real pink ribbon instead of getting a tattoo. All the best.
i have a tribal band round the top of my arm with my hubbys name on it and a heart with hubbys name on my chest. i hope we never split up cos it might be hard to find a partner with the same name!!!! your idea sounds lovely and i hope you dont mind but i am going to copy you and have the same done.
I have a full Egyptian sleeve,small star on my ankle,infinty sign above the yope of my foot,The band logo for a perfect circle on the inside of my calf,a spiral snake with a triangle in the center on the outside of my thigh and a pair of cherries on my chest :) .....P.S i like your idea for your tattoo very meaningful :)

I have a Buffalo's head on my upper back just below my neck. The horns stretch from my left shoulder to my right in a Celtic pattern to represent my Irish/Navajo heritage.
I have two. I have the Disinformation devil's head logo on my back and a heart with a crosshair around it on my arm.
I think if you believe you can live with that breast cancer ribbon on your ankle for the rest of your life then go for it. But just a warning, there isn't a whole lot of "meat" right there on the ankle, so I can assure you, it will be painful. I would suggest getting one elsewhere.
