I got this gift quite a while ago, but to this day it still brings back the best memories. I have collected porcelain dolls since I was little. I only have around 8 as I find it hard to find ones that have really pretty faces.

One year in my teens for no particular reason my Dad actually went out and bought me a doll, he picked it out all by himself (which in it self makes this a rarity) when I opened it, I have never felt so happy, I was literally brought to tears, it was a lovely doll. He gave no clues he was going to buy it for me so it was a real surprise and something that was very dear to me.

I think buying something that truly means something to the other person is the best gift and it doesn't have to cost much either. By listening to your friend, to their likes and dislikes you can often get hints to what lies dear to their hearts and buy a gift they will really treasure.

You need to find out what they really love and cherish. It shouldnt be a hard decision to make if you are buying for someone that you know well. Remember memories last forever. Report It

    When I graduated from nursing school (a long, long time ago), my husband gave me the most beautiful angel and it was made from cooled off lava from some volcano. It's my favorite gift I ever received.
    My daughter was born healthy!!!! after the doc said she might not be, she was. Thank God!!

    As a kid it was a Schwinn cruiser ..... as an audult it was a very unique custom pool cue. My boyfriend (whom I met playing pool) brushed my hair as I opened it.... it was a very cool moment.
