Did your parents ever teach you the wrong words to a nursery rhyme ..?!

Question: on purpose just to see what happens.. For example.. Mary had a little lamb.. I was taught to say this.. instead of the correct version.. " Mary had a little lamb.. She tied it to a heater.. Every time it turned around.. It burned it's little peeter".. the teacher wasn't as impressed for me knowing all the words as I thought she would be.. Do you think parents do these things just for sh*ts-n-giggles.. or to teach us lessons?

No, they were loving Italians (still are, both alive) who told me and my brother and sister "morals and values" of life. They were "factory workers" and had little to no time for nursery rhymes but we've turned out to be just fine !

No.

Nope. :D

They never taught me any at all. :[

they never teach me any nursery rhyme

my dad's version he taught me was "Mary had a little lamb, She also had a bear, I've often seen her little lamb, But I've never seen her bare!" and deffo for sh8ts n giggles!!!!

My mum still does it. I think she just likes being creative. It certainly helped me to build me vocabulary. And now I've started doing it too.

its pretty funny..... they might teach ya them for a laugh aye!!! laughing never killed anyone

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a big falllll,
All the King's horses, and all the King's men
Said "Stuff him, he's only an egg"

nope, never happened to me (:

I remember 'hey diddle diddle, the cat had a piddle, on the kitchen floor' I don't even know what the words are supposed to be.

We did eat nutty slack for breakfast. I was 19 before I found out I'd been having muesli and nutty slack is coal. I only stumbled on the truth because it came up at a quiz show. I was so embarassed.

I go to visit and sometimes she makes 'orange dinner' The whole family still calls it orange dinner without question. We are all over 40! I could go on. They do it cos they think it's witty at the time, not knowing what embarassment it can cause in adulthood, but when they get old and gullable we can get our revenge! Maybe it's a viscious circle.

haa this is great i read the first couple of words " Mary had a little lamb" then sang all the rest
parents do it for both sh**s n giggles and teaching lessons
