If you were president and you had the ability to give everyone a home and plenty!

Question: would you do that or waste money on a war in another place?
No fighting just honest answers to a fair question. I wish the whole world was fed and sheltered? Guess I'm a dreamer.

I would... at least all the children anyways :)

of course
but our pres has all that
so why should he give a crap about anyone else

i dont think its the govenments job to provide food and shelter....not that im condoning the war

AMEN TO THAT SISTER! I whole heartedly agree with you.

And since when should America police the whole world...How about we figure out our own problems before we force ourselves into someone elses?

If I had to choose between the two, I would feed everyone and give them shelter. What is the point in fighting for peoples freedome when they probably wont survive to see it?

Give plenty of food.

And would you rather our military be fighting them here, on the streets of New York and Los Angeles?

Because if a Democrat's elected, that's what's likely to happen. Downsizing of our military until we're weaker than the French (which is saying a LOT), and then they'll be over here while we dream of "the good ol' days" where our troops were over there, holding down resistance in Basra and Mosul, instead of worrying about having to protect Houston and Cincinnati.

i would give people shelter
thats 4 u bush ^-^

just like every other humane person, i would give everyone a home. i dont think there is anybody that would start another stupid war like we are in right now. unless somebody is just dumb and like to see innocent people die for no reason, they would choose the first option.

food and shelter education and respect

I would ensure that everyone would have the opportunity to buy a house if they want to, to buy healthful food at reasonable prices, to enjoy the freedom this country can provide, to have clean air and water, to be able to afford the same health care as a rich person, to pay taxes based on their proportion of income, to be able to get a job that provides a living wage, to get an education that will allow them to lead productive lives and to be able to see the BS that is around us, and reject that.

I would provide food and shelter with conditions

1. You work and pay what you can towards your shelter based on a realistic sliding scale of your income and NEED expenses (not wants)

2. Food is offered also on a sliding pay scale and what is needed and not wanted.

3. All services provided on a sliding scale of your income

4. Children will be responsible to learn an education

If you are not able to work, then you go to school and get an education in a career that you are able to do. Disabled people can learn to be teachers.

Even the slow of learning are able to contribute to society with some supervision

Those who are ill, unable to do anything at all physically and / or mentally are the only ones exempt from this.

We already provide food and shelter for our prisoners. How fair is that? They should be able to have their own farm grounds and grow their own food and create the skills needed to maintain both food and shelter. This means they get an education to repair what goes broken and to manage their own crops

This kind of question facinates me. I would say that I wouldn't and let me explain why. And I'm going to give another example along the same lines. What if everyone could go to college?

There are real needs in this world that are met by people with lower education (and no, I'm not a person with a degree... but I busted my *** to get to where I am and I do well.) I give you the example of the garbage man. The garbage man is very important, he after all makes sure that the garbage is taken. If everyone were college educated no one would want to be the garbage man. If that were to happen we would be screwed.

I think the same thing goes with the feeding everyone and giving them homes to live in, it simply breeds generations of people that have no ambition to go out and fix the situation. Life is hard. People need to get up and feed themselves.

Hope this makes sense... just another perspective.

there's an old saying, "if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. if you teach him to fish, he eats for a lifetime". so no, i wouldn't give the world homes and food. but i'd promote education to teach people to do for themselves.

Good question. Here's a fair answer: But although (technically), without war, we face a world no one (in America) has ever known before. I am not so much of a proponent of war as I am against loosing what freedoms we do have in the way we choose to live our lives (no matter how materialistically). However, I am no proponent to giving away food and shelter either. That's why we have the problem with illegals. We are known for a free handout. Why not come over the border? Battles have to be chosen. Unfortunately.

Sorry to sound so heavy, but that's my answer. And being a dreamer is a good thing. Don't ever stop or we're all in trouble. Anything that was ever worthwhile....a light bulb...or a free democracy.... started as a dream.
