Have you ever gotten the hicups from drinking beer?!
Question: I personally never have, but my boyfriend did the other night and I was wondering why beer gives you hicups and not soda or other drinks.

I am not a big beer drinker but when I do, I do get the hiccups. So...my ex encouraged me to pour my beer into a glass or mug and not drink from the bottle or can and since I have been drinking beer out of a glass I don't get the hiccups anymore. Why this works...I have no idea.

i know if you drink upside down, it takes away hiccups
I've gotten hiccups after drinking, but you don't get hiccups FROM drinking beer or anything else for that matter. Hiccups are just spasms of the diaphragm (the muscle that controls the lungs) and there is no known trigger.
might be cuz of the gas. its annoying either way.
