Yes, because they are challenged! It is a matter of egoism. They want to finally take over you, win you and turn that spit into a kiss.
Once you make a mistake and kiss.... that specific stamp you were spitting on, ...you better send that envelope with a courier.....

unfortunately, some people with low self-esteem tend to be like that, that's true. but do like the guy said before... buy the self-sticking kind of stamp! :-)
i buy the self sticking kind too....so that means ppl have their own means of sticking too me, and their own reasons :D

Sadly this is very much true. Its a pyschological phenomenon called 'Stockholm Syndrome'. (You've probably heard of it before). Its when an abused person becames emotionally and pyschologically dependant on their 'abuser'.
For example when woman suffer domestic abuse they often continually make up excuses for their husbands because they are experiencing Stockholm Syndrome.
Similarly when a child is abused abused by their parents sexually when they are young, they often develop a sexual desire for them when they get older.

In the hunter gatherer days, one could not survive solo.
So it was vital that s/he was deemed worthy by the group.
Today, when someone "spits" on another...
It creates fear, tension, feelings of worthlessness, rejection...
All which the reptilian brain (primitive brain) seeks to rectify to insure survival.
This explains why many kidnap victims, over time, become sympathetic to their captors (Stockholm Syndrome). They conclude that the best avenue for survival is to befriend the enemy.
Now for the individual who has a stronger sense of Self and a larger support system...s/he will be least likely to stick like a stamp when spit on...
