Why do they rate movies "R" for Adult language, when teens are the one!

Question: Because those who rate movies are trying to prevent kids from being exposed to too much violence, language, sexuality. Just because a child swears doesn't mean that its acceptable for them to be exposed to more.
Children are not ready to deal with alot of the adult sitations in R rated movies. In fact, I saw "White Noise 2" the other night, which is rated PG13, and frankly, if I had kids, I wouldn't let MY 13 year old see that movie. WAY TOO MUCH violence. Its not acceptable. It gives kids the wrong idea about life. Kids are growing up way too fast these days, and its mostly due to the adult situations in the media and in movies.
And don't think that I'm some 50 or 60 year old who can barely relate to being a child. I'm only 29, it wasn't that long ago that I was in your position, but, trust me, once you get into your 20s you'll see what I mean.

not all teens curse

I wondered that too .

Don't worry about it little kid

good question. They try to encourage teens not to curse so they try to restrict it but usually fail.

i agree

Well at least they try....even though most teens are in the R rating anyways

not all teens swear but i do like your wa of thinkng,

marketing it for adults makes teenagers want to partake even more. it boosts sales.

Adults swear way more

ahhh I know.
The teens world is much worse then any of those R rated movies.

R is for retarded , so be glad you aren't supposed to see that!

Even if I had a teen who cussed, I wouldnt want them to be able to just walk in to a rated R content movie.

Lol yeah i agree, teens curse ALOT more.

Yeah...they are probably getting a lot more action than we are too. But that doesn't make it right.

It is for the Church goers

good point

Thats a good question. But Im a teen and I NEVER curse

That was back in the day ratings systems!!!!

its because of the graphic nature and usually sexual content :)

so people won't bring the little kiddies to this show
