Two of my favorite novels were made films in Mexico and both sucked: "La Tregua" by Mario Benedetti and "Las batallas en el desierto" by Jose Emilio Pacheco.

"The Grapes of Wrath" with Henry Fonda
and
"The Da Vinci Code " with Tom Hanks
...just to name the two that jump out at me at this moment.
I know most people will not understand what is so wrong with the first movie unless they read the book but it so untrue to the story that it is ridiculous, and the other movie squeezed about 200 pages out of the story and rewrote the other 300 or so pages. I could go on but it would take more than seven days to do so. Let's leave it at those two and hope there are no more.
