either way
people are goin to use cell phones
regardless of what/where......

yeah it is against the law to talk on the phone whilst driving in england

Well I am a cell phone user and I am guilty of using it in the car but only when necessary. so it wouldn't be fair for me to complain, but I see your point

i think if you are hands-free then you should be able to use your phone

They are dangerous

I agree, they are a danger and should not be done.

I thinks a very underestimated hazard and it should not be allowed. I've seen the police run red lights while talking on their cell phone and not paying a bit of attention to driving.

it can be on, when it rings, pull over in a safe place. Jenn

It is dangerous.I had a car accident when I was young doing that silly stuff; Now in St. Louis it is illegal to text while driving.

theres a law against it in washington i love it i mean the law

Here in the UK, there's an instant fine if you are caught using your phone and driving.

Yeah, it's illegal in australia. I think it's dangerous, hands free or not. Especially after seeing the episode of Mythbusters where they tested it. Baaaaaaad results.

I have a vacation beach house in Florida and I'm pretty sure the law is already being used. It starts at $50 from my understanding.

I think that drivers on cell phones are more likely to cause accidents because their attention is almost never on the road. They get caught up in a conversation instead. I've been cut off, swerved into, and almost rear ended by idiots on cell phones.

I do not answer my cell when driving. I have voice mail for a reason. A phone call is not worth my life, no matter who is calling.

There are laws in Canada too but I haven't seen/heard of anyone actually get a ticket.

My son totaled his car a few months ago.... because he was talking on his cell phone. He was sitting at a red light in the turn lane. the light turned green for the people going straight and he seen them take off so he went too and he drove right into the path of the oncoming traffic. He told me that it never would have happened if he wasn't on the phone, but he still does it. I can't see that there is anything so important to be on the phone while driving.there is no reason why someone can't pull over to use the phone. Most people can't drive good enough when they aren't on the phone let alone when they are on the phone.
