Can you name something significant in history that happened the day you were bor!

Question: I've got this whole book of events that happened every day of the year I was born. For my birthday it says:

"The National Health Service celebrates its 40th birthday. Karl Bowers becomes the first person to drive a battery-powered vehicle non-stop round the M25. It takes him 3hrs at 64kph."

So yeah, that's what happened. Not exactly exciting...but better than nothing.
