In the little sing-song "It's raining, its pouring, the old man is snor!

Question: "It's raining,
It's pouring
The old man is snoring
He went to bed
and bumped his head
and didn't get up the next morning"

Are they saying that he hit his head and it killed him?

Answers: "It's raining,
It's pouring
The old man is snoring
He went to bed
and bumped his head
and didn't get up the next morning"

Are they saying that he hit his head and it killed him?

he is snoring, so no, he's not dead.

I always knew the words to be, "He didn't get up TILL morning."

yep

No, he just had a headache.
He couldn't get up in the morning. He had concussion in all.

i never really put any thoughts in such things.

Never thought of it that way...but ya I think he did die.
LOL

evedently

I thought it was until the morning.

nah. slept in. got up at 1:00. works at wal mart.

i heard it as 'couldnt get up until morning" as in knocked himself out lol

sure seems that way....geez, some kids' songs are violent. lol

yup I figured that out on my own at like 5

I never thought of it like that..I guess he did or he just stayed in bed all day.

No... he was just unconscious until the afternoon.

my mother's lyrics were:
didn't get up 'till morning

so he didn't die in my version

Oh, yeah he's dead. Lots of childrens songs from way back are morbid.

no hes knocked out

o.o;;
I never thought of it that way. I'm pretty sure dead people don't snore, though...

Yet another reason why people above the age of 7 should not be thinking about children's songs. Bad things always come from analyses of children's songs.

yep, y'know whats even creepier? "Ashes, Ashes. We all fall down" is about the bubonic pleague.

I always heard it, "...and he couldn't get up 'til the morning."

i think he did die because they say "and didn't get up the next morning"

Ok, first of all, random question. But, I think they might be. Who knew there would be killing in a nursery rhyme

Wow thats a qood q. I'm sorry I cant answer but my thought is maybe he was unconcious???
Who knows....

Lol. I never thought of it that way.
I just thought he couldn't get up because it ached too much!

sure thing. its kind of sick like the Peter Paul and Mary song I don't know what the title is but some of the lyrics are "our house is on fire, and your children, they will burn" its included with the lines you posted.

yes. if you really think about the song it makes sense right

Who knows?

Nursery Rhymes are strange.

that's what it sound's like to me,he dead.

Wow!!

I never thought of it like that.

Hmm.

I think he must of died.

Rest In Peace Old Man.

=]
