Who invented toast? Have they been given a medal?!

Question: Oh my God you mentioned toast! You know how I love toast! I bought a new toaster at JC Penney a few weeks ago and my toast has never been better.

I don't know who invented it but I love that person. I love them with all my heart.

Louis De'Chevalier Toasteirre

the aristocratic Frenchman who popularized toast in the late 1500s. Toast was originally considered a "lower class" dish since poor people usually received lower quality and often burnt bread. But thanks to Toasteirre....toasted bread became a high class treat!

Toast was invented by poor French peasants in 1921, when they figured out what to do with stale French bread. Have a quart of wine with it and your cruising after breakfast.

Whoever thought of PB on toast deserves medal as well.

Everybody knows that the Egyptians invented toast during the prehistoric ages when penguins ran wild in the wild. More controversially, Egyptians are sometimes also credited with the invention of Elmers glue.

The baker's wife.

I don't know but they certainly merit a medal.

I think it was a German named Georg van Heidlmeiner. He invited a variety of other things too such as toothpicks, radio antennas, Supersized french fries, cork board, and the automatic penci sharpener.

I called the German Embassy in Washington, DC and requested he be given a medal. They said they will do this but it must be post-mortem since he died in 1632.

it was an accident!!...

the entier loaf fell into the fire when a raccoon tipped it over ...and a Mr. Brandles got the bright idea afterward!!

toast was invented by Marco Nodouto a sleepy Italian baker
no medal just a lot of bread

I think it must have been the Toastmasters. It worked so well they formed a club to make speeches about it.

Unfortunately, they only give one medal per food group... the medal went to the one who invented "Sliced Bread"

think about it....

It was the guy who invited peanuts i think

he has been compensated, yes

Toast was invented by the horse. Really. In Spain. The caballeros were all sitting around the campfire eating beans and bread when the big bukskin [get it, hehe] decided he wanted some supper. So he mosied on over and knocked the bread into the fire. Voila! Toast.

The toast medal was given in 1887......good times!!

Toast was invented by an early ancestor of Elliot Ness. He was a prehistoric cop and was known for yelling "You're toast!" when aprehending cave villans. Of course since no one knew what he was talking about he decided to invent it. In doing so he tripped on a dino leg he was roasting and dropped his sammich in the fire. Thus was born "Toast".
No medal as of yet...due to lack of confirmation.

Well there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy on the actual
inventor of the thing.
So I would like to propose a toast if we could all be upstanding please & raise your glasses.
To Buk & his search for the origins of dry bread on a fire.

the guy who invented the toaster

idk,someone that wanted hard bread

Crunchy bread that holds melted butter! There is no downside

She does deserve a medal

Probably Leonardo da Vinci. He was always inventing stuff.

Hey, maybe Mona Lisa's soft smile was because she smelled some lovely toast.

They should be! Toast is the best thing since sliced bread.

The english did it,
