What Would You Do..??!
Question: i have been promised a promotion from my job for the past *several months*
but i also go to college and i do an internship that requires several hours a week from me.
soo..when i tell the folks at my job that i need every friday off to do my internship..they are like alright..you can have every friday off....!
so i got my friday off....
BUT now they gave the promotion to a completely different girl..all because i could not work that one day..
yes..i was upset..but wouldn't YOU be..??
Is it time to quit because i deserve better than that..????

...bottom line, look elsewhere but leave with dignity and a smile on your face...your employer is not supportive of you trying to better yourself through education and internship and they even sound a bit sneaky about it.

Not time to quit. Truthfully, you couldn't fulfill the requirements of the job.
Stick around and do your best on the job and in school.

That was totally unfair, they could have at least told you that if they gave you Fridays off you wouldn't get the promotion, I would talk to them about it. I mean its not like your taking Fridays off to just screw around.
don't give up.. there's a reason for everything!
That is reality,
if you can't give the commitment that the company expects they wont reward you with a promotion.
If that isn't suitable for you find somewhere else to work.
I have had alot of trouble trying to get flexibility out of my employers over the years - it is like they panic every time they see something out of the ordinary...
Well, they felt justifed in what they did, and I believe that the job is just an end to means for you. so wait until you find a better job, ie... . one that is in the field you are studying for. before quitting.
Is this job in your career field? If not forget it as it doesn't really matter, if it is then finish your internship and go work for a competitor
Concentrate on ur studies now my dear.
When u have the qualification, u can go for a real job & think of better opportunities, promotions & what not.
If u r happy with the job u can continue. but if u r unable to attend to it due to ur preoccupation, then give it up. For it is no use if u r not able to pay full attention to it.

Well okay. that's kinda messed up. See can you afford quitting, you know because of college and all of that?
If you can then do it, if you can find a better job.
if not , then stick it out till you can.
