I do dislike most of it, but I find "lol" very useful. Sometimes I'll type something meaning it as a joke, but when I reread it, it makes me sound like a real b*tch, which was not my intention. But put a "lol" at the end, and viola, it's a funny joke again.
Edit: Ugh! I had comma diarrhea. I hate that almost as much as the online lingo!

I agree. but do use some of it. Here and there.
I think it's overused big time. Another thing is the way people are spelling words...it's like they either don't know how or just wanting to sound gangsta. It's terribly annoying.
