Not that. I did lock them in many years ago. I always carry a spare key now. Always.

I posted a way out of this some time ago.
If you have a remote locking key at home and someone there with a mobile, phone them, they can click your button down the phone while you hold your phone close to your car.
Your "home" remote will then open the car where you are.

yes, it was winter & I started my car to let it warm up. I am very bad about locking my keys in the car. I do it about once a year. Everyone has a copy of my car key now.
I've never locked my keys in the car with the car on but I locked my keys in the car at a showing for a house last Friday!
Yes! I burned a half a tank of gas before my mother came from the Bronx (I'm in Manhattan) to unlock the doors. It never happened again.
actually with remote controls, I never lock my cars manually
It has a feature where if the car is locked with remote, it must be open with a remote too. Opening it with the keys will trigger the alarm. Its like an anti lock picking or forced entry mechanism
So I stick all my locking and unlocking to using the remote only.
That way, I'll never ever lock it without my keys in my hand

The worst time was when we were on vacation at the beach. I had gotten in the car to get something and laid the keys on my seat, needless to say I closed the door before noticing the keys laying there. My dad had his fishing rod so after they pulled the window out they were able to pull the keys up with the fishing hook and line.
then engine wasn't on but i did lock the keys in and the AA had to come out and unlock it for me it took ages

It's been a long time since I've locked my keys in the car. These days I drive a beat up old work van. It's a good dependable vehicle but the gas in the tank is worth more that the resale value.
I don't even lock it. I figure if you're so hard up to steal it (or anything in it) then you're pretty desperate or deranged and in that case I'm not going to stop you.

Well, I've never locked them in the car when it was running, but I have locked them in the car before. Stupid me! lol. I had to call this guy to come and break into my car for me. It was so embarrassing!
