What outlets do those without friends already have?
Most people simply find outlets that suit your personality. You have developed a lifestyle where you surround yourself with such friends and share such concerns. If you were to be removed from your current friends, your personality would most likely seek to establish similar friendships and start anew.
People like myself do not confide my own problems and concerns in other people as I am used to being a listener. As such, I have developed in a way that I would feel out of place if I didn't have someone who relied on me. I guess I just need to be needed.
For a situation in where someone like you were to be stranded on a deserted island, I imagine that you would either experience a dissociative episode and either imagine a companion or substitute the lack of companionship by performing another activity compulsively, depending on how much you're accustomed to having others around.
Simply put, whatever situation you find yourself in, you'll live.
