Can you remember?!

Question: When you were young and went out in the morning and didnt come back until you were starving and had meat pie and mash or sausages but we weren't over weight .
We played in the corn fields climbed trees and fell out. We had nothing but it didnt matter because we went out and made it , go carts ,sledges , camps ,and tree houses. We were scared of the police and got a clip round the ear if we answered anyone back , kids were seen and not heard. All of your friends had several brothers and sisters that had to sleep many to a room, but it didnt matter . There was no day time TV thats if you were luckly enough to have TV, the afternoons had listen with mother on the radio not listen with the child minder. We didnt say we were bored we didnt stay in long enough . No arguing at bed time we were so worn out we fell asleep as soon as our head hit the pillow, what went wrong.

i do very well, never bored that's for sure, too busy out with mates playing pirates or Man from Uncle and my girlfriends brother with his meccano set, its funny i always liked boys toys more than girls. And then there were the sweeties, Jublies and sherbet dips, and liquorice strips, smiths crisps with blue salt bag in them and bottles of tizer, penny for the bottle back. we had TV but the programmes very very innocent if you look back at them now. Watch with Mother, Bill and Ben, Andy Pandy, Uncles, aunts, cousins, and every body mucking at Christmas and birthdays, those as they say were the days, and they never seemed to end, but of course they did sadly.

its true that you could play outside without too much fear, not something i would do today.

nope

Erm no. I was stealing cars and breaking into houses!!!

Ok so I can relate to SOME of that.... makes me think Im spoiling my son rotten.

I don't recall that ever happening to me.

Also when the streets were safe enough to walk on late at night.

I remember well, that brought a smile to my face, nice one!

NO TV!!!

You grew up.

God, do i miss those days :(
I hate growing up- I want to be the same cute kid with beautiful curls, and those innocent eyes!

now what did l do this morning????

Very true

no

yes I remember having a childhood like that. What I'd like to know is WHEN did it all start to change?

Yep, I sure do!
We played tag on the rocks.
We had stick children, a branch for a husband (which we stuck in the ground out of sight- he was at work) and rock babies we carried around.
We were taught to respect others feelings and their privacy.

I miss the good ol' days!

LOL

Yes I can, you must be about my age 63.
We were never in the house because if we were our mother would find us some thing to do. Those were the days when you could safely play out and every one knew you, even the local bobby.

I sure do, yourself an Teddy have answered all the things i remember, and wasn't it a safe place to be, we could not let our kids do any of the things we did nowadays it can be a bad cruel world out there for them.
