If it begins to worry you, strain you or make you feel tired, yes. It's unhealthy. But if you feel fine and it's not affecting you, do not worry.

Ultimately, if it is causing stress on your life and you want to be able to sleep more, go to your doctors or just stay up until you're so tired you'll fall asleep for ages.

It's not healthy, it is said that people who sleep less than 6 hours die at an early age.

Someone I know gets only four hours and look healthy and is very active some people need six hours others need more it depends when you wake up do you feel up? Or still tired?

some people dont need 8 hours. if you feel ok dont worry

6 hours isn't too unhealthy. Everyone functions differently. As long as you feel alert during the day then it isn't a problem. I can get by on five sometimes. If it isn't affecting your daily activities then it isn't unhealthy.

go see a sleep proffessional, you may have a type of insomnia, either that or you are exited about something :o)

I wouldn't worry. If you are in bed and resting then that's the main thing. If you are going to bed at 10 and sleeping til 4 and getting up then that's when it would become a problem.

I wake up every night about 3 or 4am and then go back to sleep so I never get any long continuous sleep.

It is not healty, I have the same problem which is why I'm up at 2:50am on yahoo. They say to cut caffiene 6 hours before bedtime and go to bed at the same time each night. Maybe that will work for you. 6 hours is still a decent amount of sleep, but if your feeling tired then try the above.

everyone has their own sleep cycle. by "lack of sleep" are you a tired zombie, or just super human that you can function on 6 hours of sleep? If you can function on 6 hours, more power to you. Supposedly successful people can go on very little sleep. If you are tired all the time and can't sleep, you may have a medical condition. I had hyperthyroidism, went to the doc, got it fixed. Make sure you don't have a medical condition. =)

I heard the army makes you sleep only four hours a night, insisting that it is just as good as eight. I don't know about this, though.

All you can do is check your nighttime and daytime habits. Do you eat before you go to sleep? Work out? Watch TV? Study? Do you drink a lot of coke during the day? Find something you do every day and try to alter it. Then see if there are any changes.

Also, talk to your doctor. :)

drink warm milk before going to bed , or eat yogurt , that shud help u sleep , stay away from coffee or anythin with caffeine

if u're an adult yes its healthy! i also sleep 6 hours a day, its just because your body got used to it! im tryna sleep like 9 hours just i just cant! once im awake, im completely awake! or else you have to slow down drinking coffee, eating at night specially sweets

well i'm having the same problem, i guess it's due to stress

You have to do some exercise and yoga, so by doing some yoga you feel very relax and by doing exercise u got tired and when you are tired, you definetly sleep more than 6 hours.
