Boy Scout or Girl Scout?!

Question: what did you learn

Answers: what did you learn

Boy Scouts! But I was both.

I was a girl (still am, in fact--but a senior citizen.)

Girl Scouts: I won the cookie selling contest. The prize was a scrapbook. My sister found what was left of it in her shed not long ago. That gave us many laughs! I also remember trying to sew little patterned brown-flowered dinosaurs onto chartreuse placemats. (Yuck! I chose the colours.) Girl Scouts was, well, okay.

Boy Scouts: Don't laugh. My dad was a Boy Scout Executive. I learned far more from the Boy Scouts, like lighting fires, all the songs we sang around campfires, Taps, wood burning, swimming in the creek in the High Sierras at the foot of a huge pile of sawdust from an abandoned sawmill and so on. I read all of the Boy Scout books: Wolf, Bear, Lion, Scout. (I think they tried putting the words together because I remember reading a book about Webelos.) Boy Scouts were GREAT!
