For my show and tell I brought a picture that was taken during spring break in Texarkana. In the photo there are my sisters Mireille and Olivia, my brother Lewis and our very good friends Sophie, Sydney and Oliver Kacki. The Kacki family is an American family that lived near us in France and all of the kids in their family became friends with the kids in our family because we could speak English together. They live part time in Nashville and part time in France. We hardly ever get to see them anymore, so we planned a trip with them this spring break to Texarkana.
The reason we chose to meet in Texarkana was because it was halfway between San Antonio and Nashville. Texarkana is probably one of the most boring cities in the entire world, I’m not even kidding, but that was okay because we were taking the trip to enjoy each others company so the setting didn’t matter.
Driving to Texarkana took eight hours, and with 5 younger brothers and sisters that means 8 hours of fighting and crying and about 20 bathroom stops. It was not a very pleasant ride, to say the least.
When we finally arrived at our hotel we were very happy to see our friends again. We all changed into bathing suits and went straight to the indoor swimming pool of the hotel. We did a lot of swimming on our trip, like at least half of the trip was spent in or around the swimming pool and it was very fun.
We also played pool, ping pong, went to the movies once and went to a park. The park was my favorite part of the trip. The park was had huge pine trees, a lake with ducks, turtles and fish and a play ground. It was very pretty. We had a fun time catching tad poles on the edges of the water with plastic cups and then setting them all free when we were done. We played on the playground for hours and had a picnic in the grass.
