Easter is celebrated the first Sunday after the first Full Moon of the spring equinox.
The First day of spring was last Thursday, the fist full moon was the same night, so here we are.
The last time Easter was this early, was 1913. The next time will be over 200 years from now.

Its all to do with the lunar cycle,The first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox,
, thats why it is different every year. It wont be this early again for like 100 years and last time was 1904 or something.

nope it's when the first full moon comes and it can be anywhere between March and April....
I read somewhere that it has something t do with it being the nearest Sunday to the full moon. I'm sure i wasn't under the influence at the time.
It's all to do with phases of the moon.There's a strong campaign this year to get it on a fixed date.
It's supposed to be on the first Sunday following the full moon (march 21st 2008) after the spring equinox (march 20th 2008). That's why. HAPPY EASTER !!! ???

well every 240 years the moons do some thing and its early for easter.the last time it was this early was 120 years ago!You should be happy your really lucky to be alive in this rare event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
