I was going to say either Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks or Jack Nicholson.
But then I remembered that Indiana Jones was originally intended to be a then Spielberg/Lucas Bond esque character before they set out to make their own creation.
Jack Nicholson isnt youthful enough and Tom Hanks really doesnt have what it takes (even though the three aforementioned actors are my favourite) then it dawned on me that theres never been an American actor portraying Bond.
I suppose Ross Kemp (Grant Mitchell) would be quite good.
