I used to like Kurt Cobain - Had my hair like him, played left handed guitar like him, dressed like him..... - I didnt take heroine and eventually blow my head off with a shotgun like him, and in many ways he let me down as a rolemodel (lol!)

Mr. Nixon, no, not the ex-president; he was my fifth grade Sunday school teacher and he made faith come alive. He was such a great man and he wasn't afraid to treat us as thinking people capable of great faith. To this day he's the one I think of whenever anyone asks that question. Wish I knew where he was today--I'd thank him!
Captain Kirk. I know that sounds stupid but no one in real life measured up the the skipper. I mean he was brave, smart, cunning and compassionate. And when it came to protecting his crew he could be utterly ruthless. If you know anyone in real life like that then let me know. Every 'real' roll model I had when I was younger eventually let me down but not the good captain who remains forever noble on celluloid.
