depends on what I am giving many chances for and who I am giving other chances to. too many, I am such a pushover...ask my kids. My husband thinks I let them run all over me.
My husband and I took vows for better or worse, richer poorer, sickness and health til death do we part. We both take those vows very seriously. There is one thing we didn't vow, and that is we didnt promise to excuse infidelity...one time is all it would take for either of us. we wouldn't be able to get past it.

The question can be considered in different point of views of angles. This is depending upon your capacity of tolerance and your firm determination about good or bad people. In case of good people then in more than one or two he/she can be given chances and I think this is quite sufficient to rectifies his/her mistake. Secondly from my opinion,if the person is not enough good then one should not leave his/her efforts to go further till the person does not change according to your wish. However continuing such processes you will get success in your object and you will get peace of mind in such situation. The question provides good teaching to our society.
