My husband and I are older, and we are Catholic. We don't make colored hard boiled eggs before, or decorate in any way (we do have a tree made of sticks, in case we want to put up an Easter tree, but we won't do it this year) ... we'll possibly get dressed and go out to breakfast (it's a nice little restaurant a block away, with an excellent Easter brunch menu), but the rest of the day will be 'normal' (yes, we'll even do the laundry, which is a Sunday thing in our home) ... we'll play WoW together (I had to stop suddenly yesterday, due to PTSD, but I'll be better on Easter, and will have moved on in the game before then) and have a 'nice dinner' ... a rib steak, potatoes (perhaps my husband will make Potatoes O'Brien from fresh red potatoes, three different sweet peppers, and onions), and probably asparagus, or perhaps some brussel sprouts.
Am I saying that we don't celebrate Easter? We do, actually, but we celebrate Easter every Sunday, in our hearts ... to us Easter is just the 'end' of the 'church year' ... it's truly not a full year, since it starts in early December, in Advent, as we 'prepare' for Christmas and the coming of the baby Jesus who will become the Christ who will 'rise from the dead' on Easter to save us all. We are saved and we are happy, and we celebrate Easter every Sunday ... to us, Easter is not cute bunnies and colored eggs and candy, it's not getting dressed up and going out, it's not egg hunts or being together with 'family' ... we pray differently from others, too ... a 'conversation' in the back of our minds with God that goes on all the time, every day, day in, day out ... but to those of you who still need the celebrations and the child-like traditions, we say Happy Easter ... we know that you may love (or hate) this holy day ... we just hope that in your heart you KNOW that you are celebrating the FACT that Jesus died on the cross to save us ALL from our sins, and that Easter is the day that 'proves' we will ALL have 'eternal life in Heaven' ...

This year I'll be eating Easter ham with my fiance's family. We're going to church first. His family from out of town will be here, and I'm meeting some of them for the first time. I'm going to dress up :)
If you take away the ham, I'll say Easter dinner at home.
This is family time, and it should be spent at home not at some buffet with a million other people.

I'll get dressed up, somewhat, but nothing new. There will be a Easter ham & all the fixings here at my house. My children & grandchildren will all be here. Hooray!!

Easter at home, and considering I was in the ER Tuesday with stomach problems I won't be eating much.
Easter ham at someone else's house cause i dont cook. And i may throw on some jeans if i feel like it. but more then likely i'll be in my sweats.
